Job Description


Our client has a great opportunity for an individual with 2 to 3 years of accounting/payroll and administrative experience who would like to grow with a company. This is a well-rounded role that will give you exposure to a range of accounting functions. Great mentorship and opportunity for growth for a CPA student.

Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Maintain PR Employee module in Vista (activate/inactivate, wages, deductions, etc.)
  • Collect employee timecards from the field, verify for completion, and submit them to PMs for approval.
  • Process payroll in vista, reviewing all O/T, D/T, taxable benefits, vacation for accuracy
  • Provide payroll to Controller/ OM for approval, upload EFT to the bank once approved
  • Prepare CRA PD7A remittance and provide it to the controller for payment
  • Provide ROE files to the controller for processing
  • Ensure any special garnishments are communicated/ deducted/ remitted as required
  • Assist controller with vacation reconciliation
  • Reconcile Employee LTD deductions with Group HEALTH monthly reports
  • Reconcile Employee Payroll Accumulations Quarterly
  • Prepare and reconcile annual T4\'s through Vista
Insurance
  • Assist Controller and GM with annual liability insurance renewal when required.
  • Request Certificates of Insurance and ICBC APV47 reports for new contracts.
  • Request Certificates of Insurance for leased equipment.
  • ICBC Fleet insurance renewal review and administration with insurance agents.
  • Respond to insurance claims questions.
Human Resources
  • Produce documentation for upload into HFF.
  • Maintain Employee Hire Package & Print Copies
  • Onboard new employees
  • Set up new employees in Vista & integrate into HR resources
  • Administer employee benefits program (Group Health)
  • Respond to Group health and Employee Inquiries
  • Assist with the completion of employment verification letters
  • Complete exit interviews
Project Management/Estimating
  • Assist Project Managers with uploading projects and change orders into Vista.
  • Assist with tenders and tender submission as required.
  • Track tender results.
  • Assist Project Managers with Job Cost Analysis and Subcontractor reconciliation.
  • Liaison with the project managers regarding substantial completion dates.
Miscellaneous
  • Assist with other general office duties/ accounting duties as required.
  • Participate in Finance meetings.
  • Work with the Bluepoint team to successfully complete annual goals and objectives
  • Work with applicable team members to document, communicate, and implement these revised processes; areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
  • Purchase Orders
  • Change Orders
  • Time & Material Billing
  • Subcontractor Agreements
  • Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable when requested.
  • In-house computer IT support.
  • Assist with Office 365.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of Finance and work with applicable team members to revise processes, communicate, document, and implement changes.
  • Update standard operating procedures for Payroll/HR as required.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or another related field is required.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting required.
  • Payroll or administrative experience is an asset.
  • Team player with a keen interest in learning
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license
  • Excellent working Knowledge of Microsoft Office program suite. (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Familiar with ERP use. Vista ERP knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Experience in Civil Construction is considered an asset.
