Gasoline Alley Indoor Farmers’ Market Manager

Red Deer County, AB, CA, Canada

Job Description

Looking for a role that keeps you busy, connected, and at the heart of the local food scene? The Gasoline Alley Indoor Farmers' Market Manager works with the Board to keep everything running smoothly - handling day-to-day operations, helping vendors, and making sure customers are happy.

Team up with the Board to plan ahead and keep them updated on everything happening at the market. Help set the ground rules and make sure everyone plays fair. If a problem pops up, you're there to help sort it out. Stay on top of all the food safety and local regulations. If something's not up to snuff, you'll work with vendors to make it right. Keep the paperwork organized--fees, records, certifications, bills--so nothing slips through the cracks. Find new vendors, help them get settled, and support them with tips on selling and marketing. You'll also help decide on the perfect vendor mix for the market. Spread the word! Whether it's talking to the media, planning special events, or making sure market signs look great, you help the market shine in the community. Make sure every market day is smooth: organize market staff, welcome vendors, and leave the place spotless at the end of the day. Listen to shoppers and vendors, and use their feedback to make the market even better. Keep learning--attend workshops, share what you learn, and encourage others to grow too.

To thrive in this role, it helps to be a great communicator, a natural problem-solver, and a team player. Some marketing know-how, comfort with social media, and leadership skills are all great. If you're passionate about local food and community, you'll fit right in!

The Gasoline Alley Indoor Farmers Market welcomes shoppers every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the manager expected to be a lively presence onsite during those bustling market days. In addition, the Market Kitchen food hall and brewery is open on Thursdays. While this is a full-time position, there's flexibility built into the weekdays to balance your work and life. The salary ranges from $65,000 to $70,000, depending on your experience and qualifications. If you're ready to jump in, the market is eager to fill this role as soon as possible.
