If you said yes to these questions, then we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for YOU!

Catholic Social Service\'s Children, Family & Community Service is currently looking for 4 Gardening Project Volunteers in Edmonton.

The ideal candidate would be available to volunteer 2-3 hours per week (Monday-Saturday) from June 2023 to September 2023.

If you are someone who enjoys gardening & connecting with others, then this volunteer placement might be the right fit for you!

What you can expect:

• To provide gardening and planting support for staff and residents in CFCS Residential sites to enhanse and beautify the appearance of the yard.
• To provide weekly yard maintenance, as well as provide mentoring support or assistance when requested.
• Assist with a variety of activities such as spring cleaning, weeding, watering plants, raking leaves, and planting flowers.
• Provide any constructive feedback or suggestions to encourage upkeep of the yard and plant maintenance.
• Have fun!

Desired Skills/Abilities:

• Previous gardening experience
• Good Interpersonal Skills is an asset
• Physical ability to perform gardening tasks such as bending, digging, lifting, shovelling, and weeding.
• Ability to carry garbage bags and other materials that weigh less than 10 pounds
• Good communication skills
• Non-judgmental attitude, with a respectful and positive inter-personal and interactive social skills
