Tracey\'s Landscaping is looking for reliable and positive Gardeners/ Horticulturists to join our amazing team! Do you have a great work ethic with above average attention to detail? Successful candidate must be reliable, able to work outdoors in most weather, have excellent time management skills, and be able lift and carry heavy loads if needed. Uniforms and PPE are provided. Landscape Gardening experience an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with a Horticulture degree. Responsibilities may include:
- Constructing and maintaining gardens
- Use and operate tools and equipment used in horticulture
- Care for growing plants by watering, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, cultivating, and removing dead or damaged tissue
- Inspect, handle, and transport nursery stock
- Spread top soil and lay sod
- Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges
- General garden maintenance
- Operate pruning saws, string trimmers, backpack blowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaw and other landscape maintenance equipment
- Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, yard and equipment
- Assist with landscape construction when needed including installation of plant material, soil, mulch, sod, etc.
- Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Communicate with customers and the public in a polite and courteous manner
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Horticulturist Trade Certification or Lawn Gardener Trade Certification is an asset
- Plant knowledge and identification, specifically trees, shrubs, and perennials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Basic measurement and calculation skills
- Excellent physical stamina and good manual dexterity
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
