Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time (seasonal)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Garden Center Associate to join our team for the active season running March through December. This role involves assisting customers with plant selections and care advice, handling phone and email inquiries, maintaining plant health and store appearance, processing sales through the POS system, and helping with inventory management. Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales

Greet customers and provide knowledgeable assistance with plant selections, garden supplies, and care tips. Answer customer questions in person, over the phone, and via email. Build lasting relationships with customers by offering friendly, professional service.

Plant & Store Maintenance

Water, prune, and care for plants to ensure they remain healthy and vibrant. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing garden center, including displays and signage. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain, as required by the nature of the role. Assist in receiving, unpacking, labeling, and stocking merchandise. Help track inventory levels and report low stock or damaged items. Potting up plants in the spring to prepare for the busy growing season. Unloading plant and product deliveries during peak periods. Setting up and taking down seasonal displays. Participating in special events, workshops, and promotions.

Point of Sale (POS) & Order Processing

Operate the POS system to process sales accurately and efficiently. Communicate with customers via email or phone regarding orders, availability, and pickup/delivery status.
Qualifications:

Required:

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Basic computer skills, including use of email and POS systems.

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.

Passion for plants, gardening, and outdoor environments.

Preferred:

Previous retail or garden center experience.

Knowledge of local plants, flowers, and gardening techniques.

Schedule & Compensation:

Availability to work

weekends

and some holidays during the season

Compensation based on experience

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
