People Can Fly is looking for the experienced Director of Game Analytics who will build, manage and mentor a high-performing team of analysts dedicated to providing insights and highlighting opportunities to improve acquisition, engagement, retention, monetization, and player experience in our current and future games. Acting as the craft lead for analytics in the studio you will work collaboratively with game design leads and publishing producers to ensure they are well equipped with the insight they need to develop and operate successful products. In this role, you\'ll directly contribute to the growth of our products by helping us better understand the experiences of our players and the fulfillment of our designers\' vision. The primary objectives of this position is providing support to our gameplay designers to help them create new experiences and to continue evolving and leveling up our gameplay analytics team. A successful candidate will be a skilled leader with experience building and leading teams of analysts and data professionals. This leader will have a passion for mentoring and developing new talent and ensuring growth of individual careers. Furthermore, this leader will possess deep interpersonal skills and have demonstrated success in partnering with other game makers internally in disciplines like Product Management, Production, Design and external to the game studio by collaborating with analytics and product teams globally. Responsibilities
  • Develop a highly performing Game Analytics team
  • Lead analytics on various products to help drive actionable insights
  • Drive analytics value for game products and wider business both strategically and operationally
  • Ensure the appropriate business performance KPIs are tracked and in place, and the subsequent reporting needs from product, exec and board level are met
  • Craft a data centric view of player behavior to diagnose drivers for the business
  • Enhance the collaboration between Analytics and development teams in all other crafts (production, design, UX, QA, Dev,...)
  • Develop product data and insights that are actionable and impact decision-making and execution and operations for initiatives across the different area of the game
  • Own objective evaluation of game health and all content/feature releases
  • Consistently mature the rigor of analyses, processes, and tools ensuring data science and analytical delivery that is timely, trusted, and reliable
  • Drive the professional development of your team and ensure a happy and productive Data Science craft
  • Guide the analytics organization to build data science models to predict behavior and segment players to allow for customization of player experience.


Qualifications


  • An advanced degree in a quantitative field - computer science, engineering, statistics, operations research, economics, etc..
  • 6+ years of experience in Analytics or Data Science both as an individual contributor and leading teams.
  • Consistent record of leading and influencing projects using data and working with large scale data and infrastructure.
  • Be a subject matter expert and analysis lead for gaming products.
  • Can research, identify and disseminate best practices across teams in terms of tools, systems and processes.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional audiences (e.g Product, Engineering, Design, Finance,...).
  • Methodological and practical; able to prioritize and assist with business requests i.e. analyzing A/B tests, strange player behavior, complex interaction dynamics, etc.
  • Experience with a broad set of statistical and machine learning methods to solve and optimize critical business problems and metrics.
