Reporting to our Chief Technology Officer, the Director of BI, Analytics and Data plays a critical role in helping an organization make informed, data-driven decisions that drive business success. This role would be responsible for creating a self-service analytics environment that allows business users to quickly and easily access and analyze data to make informed business decisions. This would require a deep understanding of both the business needs and the technical requirements of a self-service analytics environment, as well as strong project management and communication skills to ensure successful adoption by the business.

The Director of BI, Analytics and Data would be responsible for leading a strong technical team of developers, master data and BI analysts, a manager and a data integration architect.

This position is a \xe2\x80\x98hands-on\xe2\x80\x99 Director role, which can be challenging but rewarding, as this role provides the opportunity to drive overall the data vision and strategic data initiatives while also being involved in the day-to-day implementation of those initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • You are a subject-matter expert in multiple aspects of BI, Data and analytics with a forward thinking and positive presence.
  • Perform key leadership and mentorship roles in BI, Analytics, Master Data governance, data quality, system integration and data engineering.
  • Developing and implementing a self-service analytics strategy that defines the business requirements and goals with a focus on improving the overall company\xe2\x80\x99s data maturity..
  • Developing a data roadmap that aligns with business strategy.
  • Responsible for data governance, data quality management, data integration and data security.
  • Responsible for the Master Data Management practices together with ERP transformation roadmap to streamline the enterprise data architecture.
  • Leading a team of analysts and data engineers to develop and maintain the data models and data pipelines required to support self-service analytics.
  • Collaborating with business units to understand their self-service analytics needs and develop intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that allow business users to easily access and analyze data.
  • Managing the data security and governance processes required to ensure that business users have access to only the data that they are authorized to see.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation, training materials, and support resources to help business users navigate the self-service analytics environment.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies related to self-service analytics to ensure that the organization is using the most effective tools and methods.
  • Communicating the benefits and capabilities of the self-service analytics environment to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives, business unit leaders, and business users.
Qualifications for this role:
  • Education: A bachelor\'s degree in a related field such as computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or business administration is usually required. A master\'s degree in a related field would be an asset.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data management, business intelligence, analytics, or a related field is required. Experience leading a team is also typically required.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, and statistical software is important.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, ideally Looker or Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView are critical. Additionally, experience with data modeling, data integration, data warehousing, and ETL (extract, transform, load) processes is often required.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud infrastructure (GCP ideally or Azure) is an asset
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for this role. The Director of BI, Analytics and Data must be able to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders, manage a team of analysts, and collaborate with business leaders across the organization.
  • Business Acumen: The Director of BI, Analytics and Data must have a strong understanding of the business needs and be able to translate those needs into data-driven solutions. Familiarity with the Food industry, competitors, and market trends is also important.
