Winnipeg Funeral Transfer Services is seeking compassionate, reliable, and professional individuals to join our team as Funeral Transport Professionals. This role involves attending places of death -- including hospitals, personal residences, care facilities, and other locations -- to respectfully and safely transfer deceased individuals to funeral homes, hospitals, or designated facilities.
Our work requires dignity, composure, discretion, and a high level of professionalism at all times. Successful candidates will demonstrate empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact respectfully with grieving families, healthcare professionals, emergency responders, and funeral directors.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to dispatch calls at all hours of the day or night, anywhere in Manitoba.
Safely and professionally remove, transfer, and transport deceased persons.
Provide compassionate and tactful communication with families and healthcare staff.
Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and uniform at all times.
Ensure accuracy, cleanliness, and attention to detail with all paperwork, equipment, and vehicles.
Follow all WFTS policies, provincial guidelines, and health & safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with team members, funeral homes, hospital staff, and emergency services.
Participate in training, performance evaluations, and continuing education with senior staff.
Requirements:
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds regularly.
Clean Manitoba Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
Clean criminal record check (must be able to obtain).
Professional appearance (uniform provided).
Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and emotional maturity.
High reliability, integrity, and discretion.
Must be able to work on-call shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must reside within Winnipeg city limits for timely response.
Comfortable working alongside emergency services and in sensitive environments.
Attention to detail and strong sense of cleanliness and organization.
