Street Haven at the Crossroads is a dynamic women's multi-service agency that provides shelter, supportive housing, training supports, and addictions therapy to vulnerable women in Toronto. We were established in 1965 and serve 1500 individuals annually. We have seen an increasing complexity of mental health and addiction needs among our clients. We are seeking a qualified and passionate candidate to take on this temporary role who can be part of our high performing team and provide comprehensive support to improve the lives of our clients.

Position Overview:



Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising Manager will develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the initiatives of Street Haven at the Crossroads. The Fundraising Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing donations from individual donors, corporate sponsors, community partners, and philanthropic organizations. Working collaboratively with program staff and leadership, this role is also responsible for donor stewardship, event planning, community engagement activities, and supervising fundraising staff and volunteers. You will ensure compliance with all fundraising regulations and maintain comprehensive donor records and relationships. By effectively communicating our mission and impact, you will help ensure the sustainability and growth of Street Haven at the Crossroads. This position is a full-time, one year contract position.

Key Responsibilities:



Team Leadership & Supervision



Supervise and mentor staff, volunteers, and interns, providing guidance, training, and performance management Develop and implement training programs for team members and volunteers Coordinate volunteer recruitment, orientation, and retention strategies for fundraising activities Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing professional development opportunities Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure team accountability for fundraising goals Supervise grant writing and social media team to align with fundraising efforts

Fundraising Strategy & Implementation



Develop and implement comprehensive annual fundraising plans to meet organizational revenue goals Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with prospective individual donors, corporate sponsors, and community partners Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events including galas, community fundraisers, and donor appreciation events Create compelling fundraising materials including donor appeals, newsletters, impact reports, and promotional materials Manage and maintain donor database, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely acknowledgment of all donations Develop and maintain email marketing campaigns including donor newsletters, event invitations, and targeted appeals Execute social media fundraising campaigns including peer-to-peer fundraising, crowdfunding initiatives, and online giving challenges Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategies based on engagement rates, reach, and conversion metrics. Manage website fundraising content, donation pages, and online giving forms to optimize user experience and conversion rates

Donor Relations & Stewardship



Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors through regular communication and engagement Conduct donor visits, meetings, and presentations to secure major gifts and ongoing support Develop donor recognition programs and stewardship activities to retain and upgrade donor support Coordinate donor tours, volunteer opportunities, and other engagement activities

Community Engagement & Partnerships



Represent Street Haven at the Crossroads at community events, networking functions, and partnership meetings Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses, service clubs, faith communities, and other organizations Collaborate with program staff to gather client success stories, outcome data, and program updates for fundraising purposes Participate at community tables to promote the organization and build awareness of our mission

Administrative & Reporting



Prepare regular fundraising reports and updates for leadership team and Board of Directors Ensure compliance with all applicable fundraising regulations and charitable organization requirements Maintain fundraising calendar and coordinate activities with organizational events and program milestones Support grant applications and proposals when required Manage fundraising budget and monitor team performance against targets Perform other duties as required

Qualifications



Minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in the non-profit sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Proven experience supervising staff, volunteers, or teams in a fundraising or related environment Superior verbal and written communications skills with strong presentation abilities Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and donor relationship management Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to motivate and develop others Ability to remain organized and accurate in a dynamic fast-paced environment with frequently competing demands and priorities Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret donor data and market trends Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team Event planning and coordination experience Budget planning and financial management skills Strong computer skills and experience working with donor management software (experience with databases such as Raiser's Edge, Canada Helps, DonorPerfect, or similar systems preferred) Experience with volunteer management and coordination Passion for the mission and goals of Street Haven at the Crossroads Knowledge of fundraising regulations and ethical standards

Salary



75k-80k

This role is based in Downtown Toronto and requires working in-office, 4-5 days a week, 40 hours weekly.
