Fundraising Coordinator

Job Description


The Elora Festival is hiring an experienced Fundraising Coordinator to start immediately on a part-time basis until August 31, 2023, with possibility of renewal. The Fundraising Coordinator reports to The Elora Singers Manager and is responsible for the planning and implementation of fundraising initiatives to support the Elora Festival.

Terms of Contract: $22 / hr, on average 20 hours per week. This will be a hybrid position, allowing the candidate to work from home or at the Elora Festival office as required. The successful candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends during the Festival and must have a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence and vehicle. Although not a requirement, it is strongly suggested that all contract and permanent employees, volunteers and artists employed by the Elora Festival be fully vaccinated.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying new donor and business prospects in order to meet the fundraising goals of the organization
  • Managing the Elora Festival\xe2\x80\x99s new online 50/50 Draw
  • Soliciting corporate sponsorships and donations in support of Elora Festival concerts
  • Drafting donor correspondence, proposals, reports, invitations and other donor-related communications
  • Contacting existing donors to recognize and thank them for their support
  • Entering donor data into the Keela CRM database
  • Issuing tax receipts and thank you letters to donors in a timely manner
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and presentation materials for potential donors or sponsors
  • Assisting in the coordination of major donor meetings, proposals and presentations
  • Ensuring proper electronic filing of proposals, donor gift agreements, acknowledgements, stewardship letters, reports and correspondence; creating donor reports, as required
Requirements: Required Skills and Experience:
  • 3-5 years experience in a fundraising and donor relations role
  • Professional and respectful approach in all manner of work and towards all colleagues and patrons
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment, in addition to working independently
  • Exceptional organizational, logistical and project management skills and experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and Keela or other CRM software
  • Experience supporting direct mail and advertising campaigns
  • A background in classical / choral music or arts management and working for not-for-profit organizations would be an asset.
