Position Title: Community Fundraising Coordinator Department: Development and Communications Location: Calgary, Alberta Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours of Work: 35 hours per week POSITION SUMMARY: Fundraising is a key source of revenue that helps achieve Canadian Mental Health Association \xe2\x80\x93 Calgary Region\xe2\x80\x99s mission and objectives. Reporting to the Manager, Annual Giving, the Community Fundraising Coordinator is a key player in CMHA Calgary\xe2\x80\x99s fundraising activities working with the community, volunteers and other stakeholders as we work to end the stigma behind mental illness and addiction and improve our community\xe2\x80\x99s mental health. The Community Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for developing the community fundraising strategies and tactics to secure the resources needed to advance the organization\'s objectives. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for developing the strategic community fundraising plan to align with the overall annual Fund Development plan.
  • Actively support third-party fundraising events, including responding and supporting community initiatives, attending and presenting at events, and ensuring a positive experience for the organizers and donors.
  • Apply for AGLC licenses and coordinate raffles and/or silent auctions for third party community fundraising events.
  • Organize charity casinos with the support of Human Resources, Projects.
  • Utilize CiviCRM donor database to monitor and track campaign information and help third party fundraisers achieve their revenue targets.
  • Track relationship developments in CiviCRM.
  • Meet with event organizers ahead of time to determine shared marketing resources and materials required to ensure a successful event.
  • Conduct tours of the Welcome Centre, The Recovery College and introduce external groups to CMHA staff and, where appropriate, members of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Organize and provide event logistic details and speaking notes in advance to participating internal stakeholders as well as on site event briefing.
  • Work closely with Communications to provide community event organizers with approved CMHA Calgary promotional materials.
  • Research third party fundraising opportunities and make recommendations to the Fund Development team and our community fundraising organizers.
  • Work in collaboration with the fund development team to nurture and maintain third party donor relationships to ensure growth and repeat giving where possible.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for third party fundraising events and make recommendations to improve the experience for organizers and increase revenue.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATION:
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality, communications, public relations, event planning, non-profit studies, or in a related field is considered an asset.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous experience in sales, marketing, or fund development is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience using Customer Relationship Management software is considered an asset.
  • You have excellent project management skills and are self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • You are courteous, warm and enthusiastic in your communications both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to interact within all levels of staff and external contacts.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suites, Zoom, Outlook and database systems.
  • Awareness of mental health and addiction issues.
OTHER INFORMATION:
  • Successful candidate must be available to attend fundraising events during the evenings and weekends.
  • Successful candidate must be able to travel to and from events and transport event materials.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in professional roles.
