Position Overview



The Fundraising and Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in advancing Knowles Centre's mission through fundraising initiatives, donor relations, public engagement, and communications activities. This position supports the implementation of a comprehensive fund development plan and helps strengthen community awareness and relationships that contribute to the agency's long-term sustainability.

The ideal candidate has strong skills in fund development, event coordination, grant writing, donor relations, and promotional communications--and brings creativity to grow community connections and engagement.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and implement an annual fundraising and donor engagement plan. Identify, prepare, and submit grant and sponsorship proposals aligned with agency priorities. Maintain accurate donor records, issue tax receipts, and prepare donor and impact reports. Develop donor recognition and stewardship activities. Create fundraising materials, donor appeals, and campaign content.

Events & Community Engagement



Plan and coordinate fundraising and community engagement events (e.g., annual campaigns, donor appreciation, third-party events). Support the Fundraising Committee of the Board and internal staff committees with event logistics and reports. Build partnerships with businesses and community organizations to expand fundraising opportunities. Represent Knowles Centre at community events to promote awareness and engagement. Collaborate with staff to produce effective fundraising and awareness communications (newsletters, web, social media, and print materials). Develop stories, visuals, and donor impact features that highlight Knowles Centre's work. Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all materials. Support media and public relations activities to enhance visibility and reputation. Prepare monthly fundraising and engagement reports for management and the Board. Support volunteer recruitment and coordination for events and fundraising initiatives. Maintain compliance with Imagine Canada Standards and CRA fundraising regulations. Contribute to organizational committees and special projects as required.
Qualifications

Post-secondary education in fundraising, communications, marketing, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in fund development, event coordination, or communications within a non-profit or charitable organization. Proven success in grant writing and donor communications. Experience with donor database systems and online fundraising platforms. Strong organizational, project coordination, and multitasking skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media and design tools (e.g., Canva, Mailchimp). Knowledge of CRA fundraising guidelines and charitable receipting requirements. Understanding of Indigenous culture and community engagement approaches. Valid Manitoba Driver's Licence and current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Checks.
