Fundraising and Communications Coordinator
Job Summary Parkinson Wellness Projects (PWP) is a non-profit organization that serves the needs of people with Parkinson\xe2\x80\x99s disease, their care partners, and families. We do this through evidence-based exercise classes, counselling, and support groups. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising and Communications Coordinator will be an ambassador for the organization, working collaboratively with the Executive Director, Board members, staff, and volunteers to deliver the Mission of the organization. The successful applicant will assist with developing an annual fundraising and communications plan and will track its implementation. Job Duties & Responsibilities Fundraising

  • Helps develop project proposals, fundraising targets and related budgets required to strengthen the connection and support from the existing PWP community, and to attract new donors.
  • Assists with fundraising activities including: PWP community stewardship campaigns, major gift programs, planned giving program, grants, monthly donor program, events, Victoria community wide acquisition campaigns, and corporate campaigns.
  • Increases individual giving by cultivating, maintaining, and strengthening donor relationships.
  • Assists with grant applications from health care organizations and Foundations.
  • Coordinates speaking engagements and prepares materials required for use in presentations to prospective donors.
  • Maintains the computerized database of donor information.
  • Provides monthly fundraising reports to the Executive Director.
  • Implements the PWP Donor Recognition Program.
Communications
  • Develops and manages high-impact communication strategies to increase public visibility and support for PWP.
  • Manages digital initiatives and tools, including social media and website content.
  • Responsible for media and public relations, branding, marketing, and design and production of collateral materials and publications.
  • Maintains effective contacts, working relationships and partnerships with other community organizations.
General
  • Works with the Executive Director and Board Treasurer to prepare the annual budget and periodic reports showing the activities and financial position of the organization.
  • Prepares and submits any special reports that may be required by the Fundraising and Communications Committee or the Board.
  • Attends meetings of the Fundraising and Communications Committee, and other meetings as may be required.
  • Performs such other duties as may be required in the interests of the organization or as may be assigned by the Executive Director in connection with the operation of PWP.
Organizational Relationships
  • Regular contact with the Executive Director, Fundraising and Communications Committee Chair, and Finance Committee.
  • Liaises with contracted service providers, media, service clubs, corporate sponsors, and other charitable organizations.
Qualifications Education, Training and Experience: Post-secondary education in a related field. Ideally 3+ years fundraising experience, coordinating in annual giving campaigns, major giving, events, and grant applications. Knowledgeable about digital and print marketing with direct experience managing suppliers. Experience working with a non-profit Board. Skills & Abilities:

Hours: 37.5 hours/week. Occasional weekend/evenings are required depending on events. There is the flexibility of working from home for a certain number of hours/week. Wage: $23/hour to start, plus 4% vacation and 2% stat pay. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $23.00 per hour Benefits:
