Title: Resource Development and Communications Coordinator Position: Full Time, 35 hours/week Salary Range: 21.01 - 27.00 Duration: One-year contract with possibility of renewal OVERVIEW The Ottawa Community Housing (OCH) Foundation delivers education, employment and community engagement programs that are designed to break down barriers and alleviate the effects of poverty and inequities faced by the 32,000 individuals living in Ottawa Community Housing; Ottawa\'s largest social housing provider. SCOPE OF POSITION The Resource Development and Communications Coordinator is a dual position, responsible for supporting all areas of OCH Foundation Resource Development and Communications. Resource Development responsibilities include supporting the granting program, leading special events/third party fundraisers, and implementing donor recognition, including calling/emailing donors and building relationships. Communications responsibilities include building resources and visual documents that help to tell the story of OCH Foundation\xe2\x80\x99s impact and needs, assisting with grant writing and reporting, and providing social media support. The Resource Development and Communications Coordinator will be a dynamic, results-oriented professional who has the proven skills to establish strong partnerships, exhibits excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and whose ability to make decisions and prioritize activities is exceptional. The Resource Development and Communications Coordinator works closely with all staff and reports to the Senior Manager, Programs and Operations. They will also work with the OCH Foundation Board of Directors, in particular the Resource Development Committee. SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \xc2\xb7 Lead the planning, resource development and operational components of key OCH Foundation events including the Annual Golf Tournament, the Annual Giving Campaign, third party fundraisers and other opportunities that may arise. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate and support the distribution of donations from community partners and/or stakeholders. \xc2\xb7 Oversee donor recognition, the implementation and maintenance of a donor database and on-going communication with donors. \xc2\xb7 Craft compelling content and collateral tailored for various audiences and purposes, including website context, newsletters, marketing collateral, program announcements, social media posts, donor communications, letters of support, sponsorship packages and the Annual Impact Report. \xc2\xb7 Prepare departmental reports, press releases, presentations and speaking notes. \xc2\xb7 Support team with submitting grants and reporting on our impact. \xc2\xb7 Oversee the volunteer involvement opportunities and onboarding process for volunteers. \xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the Board of Directors, and OCH Foundation partners. \xc2\xb7 Executive Director and the Senior Manager, Programs and Operations. \xc2\xb7 Continue to find creative ways to tell our story and share the impact to potential ambassadors and funders. \xc2\xb7 Support social media including creating and posting, as well as analyzing data and trends \xc2\xb7 Other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS \xc2\xb7 Post-secondary education in the area of health, education, social services, recreation, or related discipline \xc2\xb7 Excellent knowledge and/or work experience with vulnerable populations \xc2\xb7 Familiar with the operation of not-for-profit organizations \xc2\xb7 Strong leadership and interpersonal skills \xc2\xb7 Excellent organizational and administrative skills \xc2\xb7 Excellent verbal and written communication skills \xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate fluently orally and in writing in English is required \xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate orally and in writing in French and/or other languages will be considered as a strong asset \xc2\xb7 Strong understanding of marketing, public relations and budgeting \xc2\xb7 Previous work or volunteer experience in Resource Development/fundraising is an asset \xc2\xb7 Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks \xc2\xb7 Proven ability to access and prioritize conflicting demands, and work within tight deadlines \xc2\xb7 Self-starter and ability to work independently and on a team \xc2\xb7 Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Internet and web-based technology (social media and Canva), as well as virtual meeting platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom OTHER REQUIREMENTS \xc2\xb7 Valid Criminal Records Check. \xc2\xb7 Have a valid \xe2\x80\x9cG\xe2\x80\x9d Class driver license or equivalent and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
