What you will do As a member of the Hopewell Rocks team, the successful candidate will be an Ambassador for NB Parks. Reporting to the Guest Services Manager, the Engagement, Media and Communications Coordinator will carry out the following responsibilities with the highest level of service excellence:

  • In coordination with the Parks NB Marketing Coordinator, manage website, develop and implement social media and marketing strategy including capturing, creating and publishing quality photo and video assets aligned with Parks NB Brand.
  • Coordinate compelling internal and external communications with all media and stakeholders ensuring the park is showcased with the highest quality, clarity, effectiveness, and professionalism.
  • Develop and deliver inspiring experiences and programming for all guests (including but not limited to public, groups, travel writers, and media) in working with the Tourism Development Teams and Parks NB Guest Experience Team and the Park\'s Managers.
  • Ensure all park programming, event details and information is communicated to guests effectively both on-site and externally through signage, printed materials, the Parks NB website, and various online platforms.
  • Oversee community engagement from various platforms, compile guest feedback, responding when necessary, and sharing comments with the appropriate department and team members
  • Responsible for coordinating services for events, including third party contracts, rentals, signage, special licensing, approving invoices, maintaining financial records, and preparing post-event reports to evaluate successes and opportunities.
  • Identify advertising, partnership, program and other opportunities for exposure, visitation growth, and audience engagement.
  • Prepare briefing notes for Park Manager to work in collaboration with Parks NB Director and Communications Department to respond to media inquiries and arrange interviews.
  • Ensure Park\'s voice messaging service remains up to date with current event information in both official languages.
  • Maintain a safety culture through the promotion of all health and safety policies throughout the park in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Work Environment

  • Ability to work flexible hours (including evenings, weekend, holidays, and special events)
  • Working outside rain or shine
  • Working amongst a supportive team interacting with other employees, guests, media, service providers etc.
  • Majority of work is performed seated at a desk, working on a computer but workload may require movement such as compiling documents or lifting boxes.
  • Occasionally involves contact with upset or difficult people, requiring the ability to respond in a tactful, diplomatic manner.
  • In season (May to October): availability from Wednesday to Sunday is preferred however may be flexible.
  • Off season: Monday through Friday and other times as required
  • Seasonal contract may be renewed

You are a creative, adaptable person who is organized, punctual and engaging. You must be a team player who can lend a hand where needed and work with minimal supervision. You are quick to learn new programs and have an ability to write. You also possess strong interpersonal, communication skills and are self-motivated. Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following: Need to have
  • A Bachelor\'s Degree in communication, marketing, journalism, public relations or administration and two (2) years of related work experience OR a two-year (2) college diploma and four (4) years of related work experience.
  • Experience and a high level of proficiency working with computer programs including Microsoft Office 365 software and applications, Canva, Adobe, general internet browsers.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms for business use
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.
