Position Overview



Couch of Hope is seeking a

Fund Development Manager

to lead and execute fundraising strategies that sustain and grow our vital programs. This role combines fundraising expertise with an understanding of human services, ideal for someone passionate about mental health and community impact. The Manager will report to the Executive Director and collaborate closely with staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities



Fundraising Strategy & Planning



Develop and implement annual and multi-year fundraising strategies aligned with Couch of Hope's mission. Set measurable fundraising goals and evaluate progress regularly. Identify new fundraising opportunities, including major gifts, sponsorships, and community partnerships.

Donor Relations



Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations. Develop donor stewardship plans, including recognition, impact updates, and engagement opportunities.

Grant Writing & Management



Research, write, and submit grant proposals to private, corporate, and government sources. Manage grant reporting and accountability requirements.

Event Planning & Management



Organize fundraising events (virtual and in-person) that engage the community and raise funds. Coordinate staff and volunteers for event execution and evaluate event effectiveness.

Communications



Collaborate on fundraising campaigns, newsletters, and promotional materials. Communicate the impact of donations through stories, reports, and other content (while respecting client confidentiality).

Data Management & Reporting



Maintain accurate donor records in management systems. Prepare monthly and annual fundraising reports. Analyze metrics to optimize fundraising strategies.

Collaboration & Capacity Building



Work with leadership, program staff, and the board to integrate fundraising priorities into organizational planning. Represent Couch of Hope at community and networking events.

Compliance & Best Practices



Ensure fundraising activities comply with legal, ethical, and professional standards. Stay up-to-date on trends in nonprofit fundraising and development.

Other Duties



Perform other tasks as required to support fundraising and organizational success.

Qualifications



Required



2-3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferably within human services or mental health. Experience in grant writing and donor relationship management. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management systems.

Preferred



Post-secondary education in nonprofit management, social work, psychology, or related field. Event planning experience. Knowledge of the local funding landscape and community networks.
