About the Role





The Fund Development Manager leads all fundraising efforts at Prospect, including individual giving, sponsorships, campaigns, and events. Reporting to the Director, Program Design and Revenue Development and working closely with leadership, this role shapes and executes a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with Prospect's mission.



As Prospect's only dedicated fundraising professional, you'll serve as both architect and builder, designing systems, growing donor pipelines, and executing daily activities to drive revenue. With a solid foundation in place and early momentum gained, the next phase is ready for someone eager to lead and grow a function that's established in purpose but still evolving in practice.



This is a role for a relationship-driven, results-oriented professional with broad fundraising experience, a strategic mindset, and the tenacity to build something meaningful, both for Prospect and the communities we serve.


What will you do?




Develop and implement a multi-year, diversified fundraising strategy aligned with Prospect's mission and strategic goals, including annual budgeting, revenue projections, and performance tracking. Lead all aspects of fundraising across multiple streams: major gifts, grants, sponsorships, individual and corporate giving, digital campaigns, events, and third-party fundraising. Build and maintain a portfolio of donors and prospects, ensuring regular communication, cultivation, and stewardship to increase retention and lifetime donor value. Design and oversee stewardship activities that are meaningful and personalized, supporting long-term donor engagement at all levels of giving. Oversee the planning and execution of annual fundraising events in collaboration with the CEO, Board, and other internal stakeholders. Identify, assess, and pursue public and private grant opportunities, supporting application development and reporting requirements. Maintain a strong donor management system, ensuring accurate gift processing, tax receipting, reporting, and donor research. Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to develop compelling fundraising messages, appeals, and campaigns across various channels. Support Board members and leadership in their fundraising efforts, including identifying and facilitating donor engagement opportunities. Recruit, guide, and support volunteers involved in fundraising, including in campaign activities and major gift solicitation. Represent Prospect externally to donors, partners, and the broader community with professionalism, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge of our work. Ensure all fundraising activities adhere to ethical standards and best practices, including the AFP Code of Ethics and privacy regulations.

What does it take to do this job?




A post-secondary degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience); CFRE designation and AFP membership are strong assets. 6+ years of success across diverse fundraising streams, including major gifts, sponsorships, campaigns, grants, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Proficiency with fundraising databases/CRM tools and Microsoft Office; comfortable managing donor data, reporting, and receipting. Strategic mindset paired with strong execution skills A tenacious, self-starting approach; you thrive on finding opportunities, following leads, and seeing things through. A natural networker who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, building relationships, and representing a cause with passion and professionalism. Experience working with Boards, senior leadership, and volunteers to move fundraising priorities forward. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences. Passion for inclusive workforce development and alignment with Prospect's mission and values. Collaborative spirit with the initiative to work independently in a growing, evolving environment.

Some post-secondary education and/or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered for this role
