Employment Opportunity: Fund Development Coordinator (Full time, Permanent) The Avalon Sexual Assault Centre is seeking an experienced Fund Development Coordinator to assist in expanding our fund development activities and cultivate new donor/funder prospects in collaboration with management and staff. We are seeking a dynamic team member with a passion for delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive, community-based support services for individuals impacted by sexualized violence. The Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for successfully assisting Avalon in maintaining and expanding fund development activities and to coordinate cultivation of new donor/funder prospects in collaboration with management and staff. Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Oversee, evolve, and facilitate a comprehensive fundraising plan. \xc2\xb7 Liaise with existing donors and cultivate new ones. \xc2\xb7 Manage existing annual campaigns. \xc2\xb7 Develop and launch new campaigns as needed. \xc2\xb7 Develop and implement a strategic major gifts program focused on cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individual donors for major gifts and corporate partners \xc2\xb7 Seek corporate and foundation funding for Avalon as an entire entity, rather than project-specific \xc2\xb7 Work to develop a long-term strategy and timeline as well as assist with establishing fundraising financial goals for each fiscal year and beyond. \xc2\xb7 Research public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding. \xc2\xb7 Manage existing grants by: tracking, developing internal reporting systems, coordinating the submission of reports, working with program staff to ensure each project/program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations \xc2\xb7 Work with staff to accurately record, track, acknowledge and receipt donations in a timely manner \xc2\xb7 Coordinate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of existing donors through targeted outreach and communications. \xc2\xb7 Plan, create and distribute direct mail appeals. \xc2\xb7 Manage Avalon\'s online fundraising. \xc2\xb7 Liaise with individuals and organizations interested in hosting third-party fundraising activities in support of Avalon. \xc2\xb7 Manage the recognition of supports as laid out in Avalon\xe2\x80\x99s stewardship plans and as pledged to donors. \xc2\xb7 Monitor local external markets to identify new partnership opportunities. \xc2\xb7 Participate in budget processes together with the Executive Director and key staff. \xc2\xb7 Work within the Mission, Vision and goals of the Avalon Sexual Assault Centre. \xc2\xb7 Leverage our online presence, newsletter, and social media to engage with the community. \xc2\xb7 Administer Avalon\xe2\x80\x99s volunteer program. \xc2\xb7 Perform other duties as required. Qualifications \xc2\xb7 University degree in commerce/business, marketing, communications/public relations or other related field \xc2\xb7 Minimum 2-3 years of progressive fund development experience with a successful record of generating revenue growth, implementing fundraising initiatives, and working with major gifts or other related experience. \xc2\xb7 Excellent management, communication, organization, planning, and other problem-solving skills \xc2\xb7 Strong interpersonal skills. \xc2\xb7 Thorough understanding of CRA rules and regulations as they apply to non-profit organizations, grants, and donation programs. \xc2\xb7 Understanding of sexualized violence and sexual assault trauma an asset \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of feminist and trauma-informed practice, as well as cross-sectional oppression as related to racism, homophobia/transphobia, ageism, classism and poverty etc. an asset \xc2\xb7 Experience incorporating perspectives of multiple communities, including survivors and equity-seeking communities an asset \xc2\xb7 CFRE designation an asset \xc2\xb7 Member in good standing with AFP and/or CAGP an asset Why Work for Avalon?
