Communications & Engagement Coordinator (Full Time)

Salary: $40,987.00/yr - $61,481.00/yr
Start Date: Immediately

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations and/or design;
  • Excellent design skills and experience using Canva, the Adobe platform (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to learn other tools as required;
  • Excellent writing and editing skills;
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office platform;
  • Solid knowledge of social media platforms and ability to maneuver easily within web CMS systems;
  • Photography and video production skills an asset;
  • Event management experience an asset;
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search;
  • Three professional references required.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Work with internal stakeholders to create brand compliant marketing and communication materials (both print and digital);
  • Execute the Association\xe2\x80\x99s social media strategy, including maintaining the content calendar and developing or customizing content across all owned channels;
  • Working to maximize social channels by coordinating overall strategy with branch-specific needs;
  • Write and edit content for various projects (programs, advertisements, fund development materials, media releases, website, blog, etc.);
  • Coordinate promotional items to distribute to business and community partners;
  • Assist in the development of media and public relations for YMCA Calgary;
  • Execute and support community engagement activities including street team and special event support;
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Represent the YMCA Calgary Community Engagement team at meetings, special event workgroup meetings and YMCA branch staff meetings;
  • Other projects as required.
