The Fund Development Coordinator plays a vital role in securing financial support for Radius Community Health & Healing. This role will assist in developing a comprehensive fund development strategy and will thereafter be responsible for the communication, implementation, and evaluation of that strategy. The role includes managing key events, activities, and strategies designed to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals.
The Coordinator will foster strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders--ensuring stewardship and engagement through targeted fundraising campaigns and ongoing donor support. This position reports to the Director of Business Operations and works closely with the Finance and leadership teams. The role is also instrumental in identifying and applying for various grants and funding opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Execution and Development:Develop and manage fundraising campaigns that align with the organization's strategic priorities
Research and identify municipal, provincial, federal, and other funding opportunities
Utilize data to inform campaign goals, strategies, and content creation
Engage and foster strong relationships with existing stakeholders, supporters, and donors
Establish and expand new prospects to support fund development activities
Ensure stewardship and reciprocity with supporters
Provide information sessions and presentations related to fundraising and/or marketing campaigns to prospective donors, key stakeholders, community partners, and the leadership team
Donor Retention and Engagement Pathways:Create and maintain a pathway for ongoing donor retention
Maintain and communicate the fund development calendar
Schedule regular touchpoints with supporters to foster strong relationships
Be the primary point of contact for follow-up actions with individual donors, businesses, and foundations
Grant Application and Reporting:Research grant opportunities aligned with organizational mission and programs
Prepare grant applications and collaborate with program teams to gather information for reporting
Work with the Leadership Team to develop and write grant proposals, complete submissions, and monitor communications
Ensure grant opportunities are tracked and communicated to Development, Finance, Evaluation, and Program Leadership
Support the process of meeting accountabilities required of successful grant applications
Development Data Administration:Support the various sites and programs with donation and fundraising inquiries
Curate pages and links for online donations
Maintain data integrity with third-party fundraising sites (e.g., Canada Helps, Benevity)
Consolidate data and generate reports
Collaborate with Finance on receipting and any other tasks or issues related to fund development
Troubleshoot donor inquiries
Administrative Support:Maintain accurate donor records
Generate regular reports, dashboards, and strategic recommendations regarding donor activity
Process and acknowledge donations promptly
Lead or assist in planning and coordinating fundraising events (e.g., invitations, logistics, follow-up communications)
Provide administrative support to sites and programs with fundraising activities
Work closely with the Finance team to ensure proper recording of contributions
Qualifications:Post secondary education (preferably in non-profit management, fundraising, marketing, or communications)
2-3 years' experience in fundraising, event management, and donor relations in a non-profit setting
Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation or similar is an asset
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities
Knowledge of the local fundraising and donor climate in Edmonton
Experience planning and executing fundraising events (e.g., gala dinners, campaigns)
Proven ability to build and foster strong donor relationships
Experience preparing and submitting grant proposals to foundations and government agencies
Ability to manage budgets, track expenses, and prepare financial reports
Experience leveraging social media to raise organizational profile
Brand development and marketing experience is an asset
Strong communication and public speaking skill
