plays a vital role in advancing the mission of CMHA, a mental health charity providing supportive housing, peer support, outreach, and prevention programs in the Red Deer community. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure funding through grants, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and community events. The Fund Development Coordinator will build strong relationships with donors, funders, and community partners to sustain and grow the organization's impact.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Relations
Develop and implement annual fundraising plans to meet revenue goals.
Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government funders.
Cultivate and steward donor relationships, ensuring timely acknowledgements, updates, and recognition.
Maintain donor database and track fundraising activities, pledges, and outcomes.
Community Engagement & Events
Plan and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and community initiatives (e.g., awareness walks, auctions, peer-to-peer campaigns).
Support volunteer fundraising committees and event planning teams.
Represent the organization at community events, presentations, and networking opportunities.
Corporate & Community Partnerships
Identify and engage potential corporate sponsors and partners.
Develop sponsorship packages and proposals that align corporate goals with organizational priorities.
Build a pipeline of community partnerships to support fundraising and awareness initiatives.
Communications & Marketing Support
Collaborate with staff to create fundraising content for newsletters, social media, and donor communications.
Share impact stories that highlight the importance of donor support.
Support development of branded materials for fundraising events and campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma/degree in Fundraising, Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
2 years' experience in fundraising, fund development, or donor relations (nonprofit sector preferred).
Grant writing and proposal development skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, donor databases/CRM, and online fundraising platforms.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
