We are seeking a detail-orientated candidate with a strategic mindset to join our team to expand our funding portfolio and collaborate on community outreach and fundraising initiatives.

Position Summary



We are hiring a permanent, full-time Fund Development Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fund Development Coordinator at Saffron Centre plays a key role in executing fundraising strategies, managing donor communications, and coordinating outreach initiatives. This position supports the organization in cultivating relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders while ensuring accurate data management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities



1. Fundraising & Donor Stewardship



Plan and oversee annual fundraising campaigns, charity auctions, donor appeals, and special giving initiatives. Build and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, ensuring long-term engagement. Maintain donor records in CRM systems and ensure timely acknowledgments and receipts. Support donor cultivation through personalized communications and stewardship activities. Research and pursue funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships and/or partnerships with corporations, foundations, and other community organizations.

2. Community Engagement



Coordinate outreach events, volunteer activities, and third-party fundraising efforts. Coordinate logistics, budgets, and promotional material for events. Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, community groups, and supporters. Represent the organization at public events and networking opportunities.

3. Marketing & Communications



Create promotional materials, newsletters, and social media content to support fundraising and engagement. Ensure consistent messaging and branding across platforms. Assist in preparing impact reports and donor updates.

4. Data & Reporting



Track fundraising metrics and generate reports to evaluate campaign performance. Monitor donor trends and provide insights to improve retention and acquisition. Ensure compliance with CRA donation practices and financial reporting standards. Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance against set goals, providing regular reports to leadership and stakeholders.

5. Administrative Support



Provide logistical support for fundraising events and donor meetings. Assist with grant applications and funding proposals. Coordinate internal communications related to development activities.

Qualifications



Diploma or degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field preferred. 2-4 years of experience in fund development including grant writing, fundraising event management, corporate solicitation, and donor stewardship. Able to build professional relationships with community members from a wide variety of backgrounds. Strong written and verbal communication, strategic mindset, organized, CRM/database proficiency, and event coordination. Knowledge of Canadian fundraising regulations, proven efficacy running fundraising campaigns and events, marketing techniques, and experience with grant writing. A clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check. A clear Child Intervention Record Check from Child Services Alberta. A valid class 5 driver's license with $2 million in personal liability vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.

Work Environment



Hybrid work environment with the use of a computer Standard 37.5-hour work week (Monday to Friday) Off site work (meetings, functions, attendance at events etc.) Some evenings and weekends during events with the ability to flex your time accordingly
