Shelter Support

Safe Harbour Society is seeking FULL-TIME OVERNIGHT Support Staff to our team supporting our Homeless Shelter.

This is

NOT an entry level position

, therefore the ideal candidate requires a minimum a 2 year diploma in Human Services and / or experience working with individuals with complex needs. They will be well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will possess the ability to build rapport with both guests and co-workers. The ability to work well within a team is paramount. Candidates also require the skills necessary to analyze situations quickly and apply sound judgement.

Job Type: Casual from $22.00 per hour

Schedule: Varied

Qualifications/Experience:

- Human Services or equivalent: 2 year (preferred) or a related field and a minimum of one year experience in a recent related position.

- Training in Crisis Intervention, Conflict Resolution and Mediation skills.

- Cultural Sensitivity Training.

- Current Level 1 First Aid CPR

Recent related experience in the area of substance abuse and mental health. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Successful candidates will be required to provide a current Criminal Vulnerable Sector Police check.
