Specific Position Duties:
Shall be a dynamic student-centred educator committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned instruction in Grade 8 and 9 Language Arts, supporting literacy development and communication skills
Integrate technology tools, including Google Suite and Google Classroom, to enhance instruction and support literacy outcomes
Apply a range of assessment practices, including formative and summative strategies, to guide instruction and support student progress
Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes collaboration, respect, and academic growth
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support cross-grade alignment and school-wide literacy goals
Qualifications and General Duties:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Demonstrates a student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment
Proficiency with Google Suite and educational tools for communication and planning
Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment strategies
Ability to build positive relationships with students and foster a sense of belonging
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
A willingness to contribute to the school's extracurricular programs is considered an asset
