Full Time Security Guard - LHSC University Hospital
The day-to-day work activities of an Access Control Security Guard include, but are not limited, the following duties:
Control entry and access to the hospital
Ensuring compliance with the standards, rules, and regulations at the hospital
Able to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situations
Ability to maintain and enforce access control procedures
Solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures
Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
De-escalate emergency/crisis situations

Overtime Method: Employment Standards Act - calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 20:00 - 05:30hrs
Payrate: $18.00/hr

Job Requirements
Must possess Ontario Security Guard License
First Aid & CPR - Level C
Post-Secondary education in law enforcement from a recognized institution or equivalent experience is preferred
Physical Demands include excessive walking and standing
Utilize radio and computer applications for communicating site activities
Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact, and diplomacy
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Prerequisites
Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
English (oral and written) fluency is a must
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
