Full Time Security Guard - Huron University

Position: Full Time Security Guard

Overtime Method: Employment Standards Act - calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly


Hours: Monday - Friday 23:30 - 08:00hrs


Payrate: $ 18.54/hour


Start Date: ASAP


Posting Date: September 1, 2025


Internal Closing Date: September 8, 2025

External Closing Date: September 29, 2025



Key responsibilities:

Implement security measures to protect property, control access to site and ensure client rules and regulations are followed Maintain confidentiality Perform security checks and liaise with students, customers and the public Ensure site safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintain written reports Enforce compliance to company policies and procedure First aid - be prepared to administer when required Maintaining a positive, productive work environment through collaboration Watch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire and/or ambulance personnel, as required. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned


Prerequisites:

Valid Security License for the province of Ontario Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor) English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability Authorized to legally work in Canada Please note, students currently enrolled at Huron University are not eligible to apply for this position.
