The Imperial Oil Nanticoke refinery supplies Quebec, Ontario and US markets with a variety of essential products including gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel asphalt, heavy fuel oil and home heating fuel. Imperial's Nanticoke operation is a vital part of Canada's energy landscape.
Position: Full Time Security Guard
Site: Imperial Oil - Nanticoke
Site Address: 225 Concession 2 Walpole, Nanticoke, ON N0A 1L0
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement- calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly
Hours: Continental Rotation Day/Night 06:00-18:00/18:00-06:00hrs
Payrate: $20.74/hr

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security
• Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits and other designated areas
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities
• Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises
• Respond to alarms, disturbances or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed
• Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities
• Report any incidents, accidents or security breaches promptly to the management team
• Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences
• Provide assistance to employees, visitors and vendors as needed
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly
• Report and broadcast emergency procedures, drills and testing
• Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary
• Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use

Prerequisites

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
