Position Title: Fryer OperatorPosition Type: Regular - Full-Time \xe2\x80\x8bPosition Location: Florenceville PotatoRequisition ID: 30525Summary: Responsible for the overall performance of the Main Line Fryer, Dryer, Blancher, Ingredients, and the results produced.Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Starts up and monitors the operation of the equipment.
  • Maintains oil, heat, and speed levels of the Fryer.
  • Monitors product color, texture, shape, weight, and controls waste.
  • Operates all equipment pertaining to the Fryer area, (includes the Fryer, Blancher, Ingredient Station, Dryer, and Batter) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Makes processing adjustments in order to maintain product specification.
  • Formulates proper ingredient mixtures for addition to the product.
  • Performs blanch tests to determine whether or not the product is sufficiently blanched.
  • Performs sugar analysis testing.
  • Performs blancher/ dryer / fryer weight loss tests to determine what impact processing changes will have on the final product specification.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation practices in the fryer area including boil-outs, 5S, and routinely scheduled tasks.
  • Maintains all required documentation including entering SPC data.
  • Accurately consumes materials in SAP.
  • Complete routinely scheduled sanitation tasks including high pressure washing, scrubbing, deep cleaning, waste disposal, and general housekeeping.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)
  • Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of Grade 12 education.
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
  • Must have proven history of safe work habits.
  • Successful completion of a 90-day familiarization period is required.
  • Willing and able to train and operate both lines.
  • Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Able to exercise good judgment in making decisions relative to the operation of a production line.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)
  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
  • Must be willing to obtain Forklift License, Fire Extinguisher Training, Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) and general production requirements is an asset.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work in a high humidity, high temperature work environment.
  • Physically capable of performing job duties including lifting objects up to 40-50lbs.
