The Job We are currently looking for a FRONT OFFICE MANAGER to join our Nova Family. Reporting to the General Manager, the Front Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the Front Office operations of our Chateau Nova Yellowknife, NWT. This dynamic leader must be passionate about delivering on the brand promise of excellence in Guest Service. This outgoing and enthusiastic leader is committed to providing exceptional results for guests, associates and the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the smooth daily operations of the Front Office, while maintaining high levels of guest service and maximizing the guest experience;
  • Overseeing the recruitment, coaching, developing, and performance management of the Front Office Team;
  • Understanding and managing guest room availability inventory, rate programs and selling strategies of the hotel;
  • Taking ownership of the Front Desk while on shift and monitoring staffing levels, supplies and business volumes to ensure that your team has the tools they need to serve our guests;
  • Preparing and completing reports; daily checklists, arrivals and departures of the day, guest ledgers;
  • Ensure that the operational budget for the Front Office is adhered to, and all costs are controlled;
  • Practicing room yield management, to ensure maximum profitability of overall operations including monitoring inventory, room types, and categories, proficiency with G3 Revenue Tool, including the management of Online Travel Agents and booking channels.
  • Manages Group reservations
  • Implementing and maintaining Guest Service standards in alignment with Nova Hotels Brand Standards;
  • Handling of guest comments and concerns, ensuring all guest needs are met. Following up with guest concerns to ensure guest satisfaction and documenting appropriate communication
  • Being responsible cash floats;
  • Working shifts as business levels dictate;
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests and associates by having a working knowledge of crisis and emergency preparedness procedures and the Hotels\xe2\x80\x99 health & safety policies;
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • 1-2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Manager or Supervisor in a hotel environment;
  • Experience in PMS, POS and switchboard considered an asset (including Opera, Microsoft Office Suite or G3)
