Overview

We are seeking a friendly and energetic Front of House Team Member to join our dynamic team at our busy cafe/restaurant. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for guests, ensuring smooth service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent customer service skills, and experience in fast-paced food industry settings. Previous experience with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus, along with a background in retail or grocery environments. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary and hospitality skills while contributing to an enjoyable dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Greet guests warmly and provide attentive customer service throughout their visit Take and process orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha or Micros Prepare simple food items as needed, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales Handle cashiering duties including cash handling, processing payments, and giving change Maintain cleanliness of the front-of-house area, including bussing tables and sanitizing surfaces Assist in food handling, serving, and food preparation tasks as required Ensure quick service by managing time efficiently during peak hours Support team members in maintaining a clean, organized work environment in compliance with health regulations

Skills

Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail environments is preferred Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is advantageous Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and managing transactions accurately Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Excellent time management skills to ensure timely order processing and guest satisfaction Experience in upselling menu items and promoting sales effectively Basic kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus but not required
