Join the team for an exciting pre-opening journey as we prepare to launch the Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Downtown! We are looking for a motivated and guest-focused Front Desk Manager to oversee our Front Office operations. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering the signature Hamptonality service experience in Calgary's vibrant downtown core.
Key Responsibilities
Front Office Operations
Oversee daily front desk, bell, and valet operations to ensure exceptional service delivery.
Maintain Hilton brand standards across all guest touchpoints.
Monitor room inventory, reservations flow, and VIP guest arrangements in collaboration with the Housekeeping teams.
Ensure adequate coverage for all shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Team Leadership & Training
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise front desk agents, bellmen, and valet staff.
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to support professional growth.
Foster a positive and motivated team environment built on teamwork and Hamptonality values.
Guest Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for guest concerns, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
Ensure all guests receive a warm welcome, professional assistance, and smooth check-in/check-out experiences.
Anticipate guest needs, ensuring a personalized and memorable stay.
Financial & Administrative Duties
Monitor and reconcile front desk transactions, cash handling, and credit card processes.
Prepare operational reports, staffing schedules, and payroll summaries for review by the Director of Operations.
Assist in forecasting labor costs, departmental budgets, and expense management.
Collaboration & Support
Coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food Service to ensure smooth service delivery.
Support sales efforts by assisting with guestroom blocks, group arrivals, and VIP coordination.
Participate actively in pre-opening initiatives, including systems setup, P+P development, and team orientation.
General Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Uphold Hilton's brand standards at all times.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma required; post-secondary education in Hospitality Management preferred.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in Front Office or Guest Services, preferably within a hotel environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with Hilton systems (OnQ PMS, PEP) is an asset.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Flexible availability for varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods and move throughout the hotel.
