Casual. Provides coverage for varying hours of operation at the Centre. Hours may vary to cover operational requirements and include evening and weekend work.
Summary of Position:
The incumbent provides front line customer service to Community Centre users, providing facility and program information to the public, program registration services using the online registration system, general supervision of the Centre during program operation, and other administrative duties as assigned.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Greets and directs members of the public and provides information in person, by phone and email
Handles program registration and processing transactions utilizing registration system, and keeps records of all financial transactions
Provides general administrative duties as assigned: data entry, photocopying, filing, checking voicemail, taking messages, maintaining incident and accident reports when required, and providing general building supervision and cleaning to ensure the safety of patrons
Responsible for securing the Community Centre at closing
Observe the policy, procedures and practices of the Victoria West Community Association
May be assigned other duties as required
Certifications:
Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
Current Criminal Record Check
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent customer service and public relations skills
Computer Skills including MS Office, Internet Applications, basic accounting skills
Well organized and able to prioritize work
Ability to maintain accurate records
Maintains effective working relationships with staff and community members
Works well independently
Criminal Record clearance
Desirable:
Experience with registration and booking systems
Knowledge of community recreation and community development
Education and Experience:
Minimum one year of customer service related experience, preferably in a recreation setting
