Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated French Teacher (with an ECE or ECEA certificate) to join our educational team. The candidate will have a strong background in language education and a commitment to fostering a positive French learning environment for students. This role involves teaching French to preschoolers and requires effective communication skills to engage and inspire learners, and working as a Before/After School teacher when there is no French Preschool.

Job Duties

Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that promote the well-being of each child, and that respect and reflect the diverse needs of children.

? Organize space, equipment, and materials before activities ensuring adaptations to the environment as required.

? Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments that extend conversations.

? Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing.

? Provide opportunities for child-directed play experiences.

? Individualize the curriculum and ensure that all activities are accessible.

? Use observations to expand play and plan activities that recognize individual differences.

? Perform assessments of children's academic development.

? Work cooperatively with the Manager, staff team and community resources to support inclusive practice and address the needs of individual children.

? Report all accidents, injuries and illnesses to the Manager or designate and record such incidents in the confidential log book and as a serious incident, if necessary.

? Other duties as required.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (required)

At least 3 years of French teaching experience

English and French proficiency is a must

Highly organized, tactful, versatile, and flexible with excellent communication skills.

Proficient organizational skills

Able to work in person and independently and in a multi-cultural collaborative team setting.

Must have an ECE or ECEA Certificate

: June 16, 2025

Hourly Rate

: $29-30/h for French teaching, and $21/h for Before/After School position.
