Position Description:
We are seeking a passionate and engaging French teacher to join our Junior/Middle School team. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, build strong relationships with students, and embrace a culture of inquiry and innovation. Reporting to the Director of Achievement and Wellness, the French teacher will also be expected to contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
Teach French to students in Grades 4-7, and a Reach Ahead Grade 9 French course to Grade 8 students; must be able to communicate fluently in French
Foster a learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence in learning French as a second language
Build strong, supportive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Develop and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with school expectations and Ministry requirements
Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress regularly through reports and conferences
Engage in professional learning and remain current with instructional practices in second-language acquisition
Participate in staff and divisional meetings, and contribute to school initiatives
Support students as a Grade 8 mentor, meeting with assigned students bi-weekly
Supervise occasional day or overnight trips as required
Participate fully in the co-curricular life of the school
Qualifications:
Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification or equivalent
Bachelor's degree or higher, with a French specialization
Experience with the AIM Language Learning program is considered an asset
A student-centered and enthusiastic approach to teaching
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Proficiency in Google Workspace tools is an asset
Demonstrated ability to support a diverse range of learners in a dynamic school environment
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must provide a Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Screening current within six months of date of hire.
