In a community where social-emotional learning is a priority, the successful candidate will collaborate with a passionate and committed team, working closely with the Head of the Junior School, Assistant Heads of the Junior School and PYP Coordinators.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Using a lens of social-emotional learning, create a class environment and rapport that inspires and supports learning and personal growth;Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation for further education in accordance with each student\xe2\x80\x99s ability;Establish positive relationships with parents, faculty and other staff members;Ensure the written, taught and assessed curriculum is in line with the IB, CEFR and Ministry of Education curriculum, ensuring differentiation;Develop culturally relevant, inclusive and responsive French educational curriculum for diverse learners;Plan and deliver French units of study and assess students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6;Develop course outlines, unit plans and lesson plans ensuring integration of all aspects of PYP, with a focus on inquiry-based learning;Update all necessary records accurately as required by the Ministry, IB and school guidelines;Provide feedback to students and communicate information regularly to colleagues and parents regarding student progress, including formally through report cards and parent-teacher meetings;Stay current with developments in the subject area and approaches to teaching and learning through professional reading, participating in workshops and other professional development opportunities;Participate actively in faculty and division meetings and meet regularly with all course teams to plan, review and update the written curriculum.Assume responsibility for and participate in coaching, co-curricular activities and supervision duties.Required Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher from an accredited institution;Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Junior/Primary division qualifications in French as a second language;Minimum three teaching experience in the French language preferred;Experience in and knowledge of IB is a strong asset;Strong curriculum development skills and assessment practices that incorporate strategies relevant to the age and stage assessment practices;Relational educator who incorporates Social-Emotional Learning and emotional coaching strategies in their practice;Proficient with relevant technology and digital toolsAdept at delivering an education program electronically and able to use electronic communication to correspond with students, parents, colleagues and the community at large;Belief in and alignment with Branksome Hall\xe2\x80\x99s mission, vision and values:Passionate about teaching and being in service of students and the community;Possess strong oral and written communication skills in French and English.Ability to work independently with little direct supervision and be a collaborative team member.Why Join Branksome Hall:Competitive salary and benefits including being a contributing member of the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan (OTPP) for eligible employees;Access to state of the art facilities and resources to support wellness, innovation and entrepreneurship such as the fitness centre, swimming pools, and makerspacesA collaborative community with a commitment to the growth and development of employees with ongoing professional development and mentorship;Opportunity to join a global network of IB educators with strong connections to the IB and active partnerships with international organizations.How to Apply:If you would like to join a leading educational institution and dynamic team, please click to submit your resume and cover letter.
