About Us

SuOn Academy is an Ontario Ministry of Education-inspected private high school serving Grades 9-12.
To support language learning within our student community, SuOn Academy operates an Academic Learning Centre, offering structured introductory and intermediate French programs for learners who wish to build foundational communication skills.

We are currently seeking a

Part-Time French Instructor

to support these programs.

Position Overview

The French Instructor will deliver structured beginner- to intermediate-level French lessons that help students develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and basic communication skills. Instruction takes place primarily on campus or online, following SuOn Academy's program guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Teach French using provided curriculum frameworks and age-appropriate learning materials Plan class activities that reinforce core communication skills Lead interactive exercises, vocabulary development, and guided practice Provide feedback on student progress and support their language development Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment Communicate with program staff regarding student learning and scheduling

Qualifications

Required:

Native-level or advanced proficiency in French (spoken and written) Teaching or instructional experience in language education Ability to explain concepts clearly and engage students at beginner-intermediate levels Strong communication and organizational skills Eligible to work in Canada

Preferred:

Experience working with youth or high school learners Familiarity with structured language-learning programs Ability to support multilingual learners

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate based on experience Additional teaching opportunities may be available as programs grow
