We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time French Instructor with strong knowledge of TEF (Test d'Evaluation de Francais) exam structure and scoring criteria. The role involves delivering high-quality French lessons, guiding students in developing language proficiency, and helping international students prepare confidently for the TEF exam for education, employment, or immigration purposes.
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging French lessons (Beginner to Advanced) tailored to international students.
Prepare and conduct TEF-focused training sessions, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice.
Develop lesson plans, quizzes, and mock TEF exams based on official TEF standards.
Support students in improving pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Track student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for learners from diverse backgrounds.
Collaborate with Merit Empowering You to support community initiatives and student success programs.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of TEF Canada exam format, evaluation criteria, and preparation strategies.
Proven experience teaching French to adults or international students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching styles to different learning levels and cultural backgrounds.
Experience teaching online (Zoom/Teams) is an asset.
Certification in French teaching (e.g., FLE) is an advantage, not mandatory.
Bachelor's degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related field an asset.
Schedule & Availability
Part-Time: 18-20 hours per week (flexible)
Evening or weekend availability preferred to support international students' schedules.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
