This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day dispatch operations, ensuring timely delivery of shipments, and optimizing routes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the dispatch and coordination of drivers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of loads.
Create and adjust load plans to boost driver productivity, minimize empty miles, and reduce overall transportation costs.
Monitor driver performance, hours of service, and route compliance; make real-time adjustments to accommodate operational or customer changes.
Maintain clear, respectful, and consistent communication with drivers--offering support, guidance, and resolving concerns promptly.
Work closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure accurate execution of customer orders, including any special instructions or delivery requirements.
Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other digital tools to monitor shipment progress, optimize routing, and maintain accurate operational records.
Book freight and actively communicate with customers to understand and fulfill their transportation needs.
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as company policies.
Anticipate and manage potential disruptions such as equipment issues, traffic delays, or weather events to minimize service interruptions.
Provide routine reports and performance updates to management, highlighting key metrics, issues, and improvement opportunities.
Continuously identify and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field experience ( Mandatory).
Minimum 3 years of dispatching experience
(required).
Proficiency with Load Link, DAT, ACE, and border crossing procedures.
Experience handling Canadian and U.S. bonded shipments, including manifest creation and customer invoicing.
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, including HOS (Hours of Service), weight limits, and safety standards.
Skilled in using transportation management software and other logistics tools.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
Strong commitment to customer service and driver satisfaction.
