Job Summary
The Formulation Operator is responsible for accurately preparing, mixing, and processing meat product formulations in accordance with established recipes, specifications, and company standards. This role involves operating and maintaining grinders, scales, and bulk packaging machinery, as well as safely handling pork, beef, spices, and allergens. The Formulation Operator ensures product consistency, applies coatings, prepares chub sausage mixes, and supports multiple product lines while maintaining efficiency and quality control. The position requires the ability to lift and move heavy materials, ingredients, and product boxes as part of daily operations. Working in a team-oriented environment, the Formulation Operator assists lead hands and supervisors as required, adheres to rigorous hygienic and food safety protocols, and performs additional duties as assigned to support production goals.
Key Responsibilities
Package and seal meat products in accordance with company standards.
Safely assemble and disassemble grinder equipment.
Operate scales and bulk packaging machinery with accuracy.
Prepare chub sausage formulations following established recipes.
Formulate and apply coatings to various meat products.
Process multiple product lines while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Maintain production line speed while securely stacking product boxes.
Support team members and assist with tasks as directed by lead hands and supervisors.
Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
Handle pork and beef products in a safe and hygienic manner.
Work safely with spices and allergens, adhering to all safety protocols.
Comply with all hygienic and food safety requirements within the facility.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements and Qualifications
Capable of working in a refrigerated environment for extended periods.
Physically fit with the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable handling various meat products, including pork and beef.
Previous experience in food manufacturing or a fast-paced production environment is considered an asset.
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe and hygienic work practices.
Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
