Come Grow with Us! Forsite is actively looking for a Forest Hydrologist with a strong engineering and geomorphological background to support our clients across BC and Western Canada. It is preferred that this position will be based out of Salmon Arm or Kamloops, BC however there is potential for remote work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Operating across Forsite’s business, this position will provide forest hydrology informed strategic and operational decision support to our indigenous, forest industry and government clients in support of forest harvesting, road building and landscape restoration plans. You will provide hydrology and forest management business knowledge and planning expertise to provide focused, innovative and meaningful solutions to our clients.
Depending on the experience of the successful candidate, the potential types of projects the role will be involved with may include forest hydrology input into forest development, climate change and vulnerability mitigation, watershed risk management, landscape level planning, and a range of land and resource analysis projects.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • A safety conscious attitude;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with providing realistic plans within complex and challenging stewardship situations;
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the ABCFP as an RPF and/or with EGBC as a P. Eng.;
  • Strong background in operational forest management;
  • Strong technical writing skills, formal training in technical writing an asset; and
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

  • Able to work with excellent attention to detail with work accuracy and quality.
