Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team of Mothers at a large private home with at least ten children. Part-time hours will be Friday from approximately 3-5pm to 9-11pm and Saturday from approximately 10am to 2-3pm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in home kitchen operations. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation and serving meals. This position requires strong communication skills, efficiency in food preparation, and the ability to work with a large number of children.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations and management. Food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency. Ensure compliance with religious and food safety regulations and proper food handling practices. Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment. Foster a positive environment for children and care for children's needs at the table.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a kitchen role within a restaurant, food service environment, or as a nanny. Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for handling food. Previous experience in the hospitality industry is preferred. Ability to thrive under a busy environment with many children. Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate by text. A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 14 per week
