Our team in Brampton currently has an opening for a Food Application Technician

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary:

To assist and support Food Application Lab activities in general, within the scope of conducting product development work and experiments, technical service requests, sample quality control analysis, and other assignments as directed by the Application Lab Manager. Types of food application include but not limited to: baking, prepared foods, confectionery, dairy applications
This position is required to work on-site in our laboratory in Brampton, ON..

:

• Conduct all job functions in a safe and efficient manner all the time by adhering to SOP\'s and safety guidelines
• Work closely with Food Scientist in conducting product development activities
• Preparation of ingredients and samples in lab for experiments, customer samples, trade shows and other project related activities
• Follow written instructions concisely and weigh materials accurately within reasonable time
• Perform multiple lab activities and meet tight project completion in a fast-paced environment
• Perform and maintain accurate physical and electronic records of lab work to ensure traceability
• Utilize computer systems to ensure that application data is maintained in a timely and accurate fashion
• Manage inventory (monitor, notify manager and order) of ingredients, lab supplies, packaging & labeling supplies, other related supplies needed to complete projects within timeline
• Help with getting supplies from local stores as needed and when needed
• Organizes and maintains lab area in a clean and functional state

• Perform maintenance, setting up, running and cleaning of equipment on daily/weekly basis
• Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager

YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience:

• Technical Competencies and Experience:
• A College diploma
• 1-3 year experience in food environment (food company, restaurant, food pantry, etc)
• Should be able to lift 40 lbs, physically able and agile
• Ability to be punctual at work
• Valid driver\'s license
• Food industry/product application knowledge would be an asset.
• Experience with e-platforms (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc)
