Our facility is a resource for community partners such as the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and Adaptive Sailing Association.

Summary of Position

The PM Manager oversees Member Lounge & Banquets evening and closing operations, ensuring smooth service delivery, effective team management, and compliance with health and safety standards. This role focuses on managing the team during peak evening hours, seamless elevated member experiences, and completing end-of-day procedures. This role champions security, health & safety, maintenance, finalizing end-of-day financials and checklists.

This role demands a self-starter with exceptional organizational and communication skills, a passion for guest service, passion for food & beverage and the ability to inspire a team to exceed expectations consistently.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Operations Management



Supervise daily Member Lounge & Banquet front-of-house (FOH) operations to ensure smooth service and positive customer experiences. Lead and manage Member Lounge & Banquet staff during the evening shift, fostering a positive, motivated, and collaborative work environment. Oversee evening and closing operations, ensuring all checklists are completed, the premises are secure, and final cash-outs are accurate. Monitor staff performance, provide coaching, and manage any necessary disciplinary actions. Coordinate staff breaks and shift transitions to ensure continuous service throughout the evening rush and closing period. Ensure that cleanliness and presentation standards are maintained in all FOH areas Familiarize yourself and be able to assist in all areas of the club, including galley, dockside delivery as there will be times in which you are the most senior person on site related to Food and Beverage. Regular check-ins with staff in all areas, and throughout your shift as appropriate. Attending company meetings whereas required to ensure compliance and update management on changes or requirements. Ie. Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Food & Beverage Weekly sessions

Planning



Oversee evening Member Lounge & Banquet operations, ensuring smooth execution and addressing any last-minute needs. Conduct shift communications, server sections, transfer tables and assist in the handover process for smooth transitions between day and evening staff. Lead pre-shift meetings to align team expectations for success and review operational procedures, specials and member details for the night. Manage reservations and guest flow, assist in optimizing seating arrangements with our Lead Host(ess) and Chef to accommodate peak evening traffic. Ensure ambiance in dining room with lighting, fireplaces, outside firepits, misters and fans as well ensure spacing between tables for easy passageway to and from service stations. Coordinate beverage and supply orders, ensuring stock levels are sufficient for the evening shift as Manage any daily cocktail, dinner specials, events are posted correctly and updated in Jonas. Plan and execute closing procedures, including completing shift logs and security liaison Preparing for the next day's operations with pass on communication, floor plan and reviewing set-ups in Member Lounge & Banquet BEO's.

Financial Management



Monitor and adjust labour costs during the evening shift to stay within the budget. Finalize daily financials, including reconciling cash outs and reviewing invoices. Provide support during financial analysis, assisting the Manager Lounge & Banquet Management team in cost control strategies and identifying areas for revenue enhancement. Oversee tip distribution and review, ensuring fairness and transparency in the process. Submit final updates for payroll, ensuring accuracy in daily reporting. Oversee inventory counts and ensure stock replenishment during the evening.

Member Service



Address member inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction. Oversee the Happy Hour rush and evening service, ensuring smooth operations and high levels of customer care. Ensure the responsible service of alcohol and manage any incidents effectively to uphold safety, security and member satisfaction. Supervise the conclusion of evening events, ensuring all guest needs are met and any follow-up requirements are documented. Report maintenance, security and safety issues to the F&B Manager and follow up to ensure timely resolution. As you may be the only manager on club property in off hours, be comfortable, proactive in handling difficult situations, as well as EMS and other potential issues with support from our in-house security team.

Team Development



Support recruitment, training, and scheduling of Member Lounge & Banquet FOH staff to ensure appropriate coverage during peak times. Lead evening training sessions, ensuring staff are well-prepared for their shift and familiar with safety protocols. Conduct employee reviews, offering feedback and recognition for performance. Foster continuous employee development through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Contribute to the daily acknowledgment efforts and maintain a supportive environment for team growth.

Qualifications & requirements



Supervisory or management experience in a hospitality or private club setting. Proven experience managing closing operations in a hospitality setting. Love for great food, detailed wine knowledge and variety of beverage services Strong leadership and organizational skills. Familiarity with health and safety regulations as well as security protocols Experience in staff training and development. Certification in Serving It Right (or equivalent) and Food Safe Level 1 (or higher). Capable of maintaining a walking or standing position for extended shift durations. Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver items, trays and food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds

Compensation & Benefits
