Summary of Position

Reporting to the foreman, operators are an integral member of field operations, responsible for providing support on all of our projects.

Role and Responsibilities

Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner



Carry out minor maintenance and inspection of equipment



Perform excavation for topsoil stripping rough grading, final grading, culvert installation, trenching, truck loading, concrete and asphalt removal



Follow marks on grade stakes or hand signals.


Level soil, rock and debris



Demonstrate clear understanding of roadway plans, drawings and grades


Follow instruction and collaborate with others to complete tasks



Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications, Training and Education

Minimum 3 seasons experience with sloping, leveling, cutting grade (finish work)



Minimum 5 seasons experience as an operator


Experience operating on commercial and industrial projects is an asset



Gradesman experience is considered an asset



Must have valid CSTS-09, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance and CSA approved 8" steel toe work boots


Hard working, positive attitude & willingness to learn



Desire to complete tasks in a timely manner



Personal vehicle and valid driver's license required

Working Conditions

Operators will be working outside in all weather conditions. They must be able to spend long periods of time sitting in their vehicle, or walking/standing on the job site. They must be willing to commit to 50 + hours per week at various project locations. Typical shifts are 7:00am - 5:30pm or 6:30 p.m..
