Job Description

Position Overview:



The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial health, ensuring accurate reporting, optimizing store performance, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyze financial data, manage risks, and implement cost-saving initiatives to support our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities



Financial Management & Reporting:



- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.

- Prepare weekly sales growth reports and monthly & annual financial statements.

- Ensure accurate and timely financial performance reporting to owners.

- Analyze store-by-store profitability and recommend cost-saving measures.

- Monitor cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operations.

Compliance & Risk Management:



- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax for multiple locations.

- Oversee audits and maintain strong financial controls to prevent fraud or mismanagement.

- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Cost Control & Expense Management:



- Analyze costs related to distribution and store operations.

- Identify opportunities to reduce expenses and increase efficiency.

- Work with store supervisors to ensure financial discipline and adherence to budgets.

Financial Strategy & Decision Support:



- Provide financial insights to support executive leadership in decision-making.

- Evaluate the financial impact of expansion plans, new store openings, and product line changes.

Technology & Process Improvement:



- Oversee accounting software and financial systems management.

- Ensure data accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Additional Responsibilities:



- Manage property leases and renewals.

- Handle property insurance renewals and claims.

Qualifications & Experience:



- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, financial management, or controlling roles.

- Post secondary education in accounting and or finance

- Experience managing finances for multi-location retail operations is an asset.

- Strong knowledge of accounting software, financial reporting, and tax compliance.

- Ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,817.40-$106,731.77 per year
