Overview

Datoff Bros. Construction, a long-standing General Contractor in Prince George, is looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to manage accounting, reporting, and overall financial operations. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys being involved in daily operations while helping guide long-term financial strategy.

We're seeking a working controller--someone who dives into the numbers, earns trust, and leads by example. You'll partner closely with the CEO to improve reporting, refine processes, and support continued growth.

Duties

Lead preparation of financial statements.

Oversee general ledger, account reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy.

Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Supervise payroll and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

Direct cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships.

Ensure all regulatory and government reporting requirements are met accurately and on time.

Maintain strong internal controls and implement best practices for financial integrity.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow across multiple operations.

Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses to support executive decision-making.

Oversee accounting systems, including Sage 100.

Support budgeting processes with accurate financial data and projections.

Conduct research on complex accounting issues and new standards.

Coordinate external audits, ensuring complete and compliant documentation.

Analyze existing financial processes to identify and implement optimized solutions.

Provide financial insights and feasibility analysis to support strategic initiatives and expansion plans.

Experience

CGA, CA or CPA designation

Proven expertise in financial reporting, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and regulatory compliance.

Proficient with accounting and financial management software.

Skilled in cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.

Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Effective communicator with the ability to prepare clear reports and collaborate across departments.

Pay: $35.00-$42.00 per hour
