Financial Controller
to join our leadership team and help shape the financial future of our organization.
Position Summary:
As Financial Controller, you will oversee the accounting and financial operations of Kingsway Living. You'll ensure accuracy in financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide actionable insights to support both day-to-day operations and long-term growth initiatives. This is a highly visible role working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and leadership across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all accounting functions across multiple facilities, including A/R, A/P, payroll, and general ledger oversight.
Consolidate financials across the portfolio and prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process to support both operations and new developments.
Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for efficient capital allocation.
Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with healthcare, regulatory, and audit standards.
Plan, coordinate, and manage the
year-end audit
, working closely with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Support growth initiatives including acquisitions, financing, and onboarding of new facilities.
Partner with leadership to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and drive profitability.
Oversee and mentor accounting staff, and manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external partners.
Qualifications
CPA designation strongly preferred; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in senior living, healthcare, or real estate portfolio management.
Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Proven ability to balance operational detail with strategic growth initiatives.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
