Nestled in the heart of the Kootenays, Nelson Brewing Company is a vibrant, award-winning brewery that is committed to crafting memorable experiences for our customers, team and community. As we continue to grow and evolve, we are searching for a skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial operations and provide strategic financial guidance to our small craft brewery. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient management of resources and, and providing insights to support the brewery's growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance, strong analytical skills , and a passion for continuous improvement.

You'll play a vital role in our operations, in the following ways:

Live out the Vision, Mission and Values of the company Prepare and analyze monthly statements, budgets and reports to provide both financial and management accounting information Maintain financial systems and their integration with sales and production systems Set and monitor compliance with data collection standard for sales, production and financial systems to ensure financial compliance and support efficient reporting of management and financial information Maintain data standards and calculations for product margin reporting Manage day-to-day activities for general accounting, AP, AR and Costing Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and provincial and federal tax agencies, including reporting and remittance of applicable taxes Provide insightful analysis that supports decision-making and highlights financial performance trends Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support operational goals

CPA designation (or in progress) with minimum 3 years relevant experience Consideration will also be given to candidates having completed a college or university degree in accounting or bookkeeping with 3-5 years of full cycle accounting Proficiency in accounting software, QuickBooks online preferred, and advanced Excel skills Experience in privately held business or manufacturing company Ability to work across functions and translate financial data into business and operational information Retail Sales, Inventory Management and/or Production systems are an asset Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving Self-motivated and detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Passion and knowledge of the craft beer industry is preferred

We are based in Nelson, BC (surprise!) and this role would ideally be from our Brewery. We believe in valuing and rewarding our employees according to fair market value. Starting base salary range is $62,600 -$76,720 for a

32 hour week
