Financial Controller Location:

, Calgary, AB (with Travel as Required) About BAAC BAAC Construction is a rapidly growing civil construction company delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across Canada. Key Responsibilities Oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable with precision and efficiency. Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support informed decision-making.



Deliver monthly and annual financial statements, working papers, and reports with accuracy. Lead job costing and prepare work-in-progress (WIP) reports to track project profitability. Design and enforce strong internal controls and accounting policies to minimize risk. Implement and optimize financial systems (including ERP and payroll platforms).



Partner with senior leadership to guide financial strategy with clear, actionable insights. Build collaborative relationships with vendors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure financial integrity and trust. Requirements Must Have 8-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience. Proven hands-on expertise in payroll, AR/AP, cash flow, and budgeting.



Strong understanding of job costing, WIP tracking, and financial reporting. Advanced Excel skills (including financial modeling). Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Nice-to-Have CPA designation or equivalent.



Experience in construction, infrastructure, or project-based industries. Familiarity with ERP systems such as Viewpoint Spectrum, Trimble, or similar platforms. Track record of leading financial system implementations. Benefits Comprehensive health and dental benefits from day one.
