Role overview
Financial Compliance and Risk Manager, part of our dynamic Finance team of 16 employees, serves as the primary point of contact for all matters related to Internal Controls, Compliance, Segregation of Duties, Risks & Opportunities, Audit Board, and the Control Framework over Financial Reporting.
What you'll be doing
Management Follow Up (MFU): Regularly track and monitor all actions arising from Group Internal Audit reports, Group Risk and Internal Control reports, IT General Controls audits, CFOFR, etc., ensuring that actions are fully and effectively implemented within deadlines. Facilitate extensions where justified, ensuring requests are made proactively and not at the last minute.
Risks & Opportunities (R&O): Maintain the company's risk register by meeting regularly with functional risk coordinators. Apply business knowledge to challenge and validate inputs. Prepare R&O materials (slides for MPRs, Estimates, Budgets, 3YPs) for discussion with the Director of Finance. Develop and maintain risk heat maps.
Segregation of Duties (SoD): Prepare and submit monthly SoD reports to Group. Take necessary action to address violations and align with Group targets. Lead initiatives to automate SoD reporting.
Control Framework over Financial Reporting (CFOFR): Conduct quarterly CFOFR reviews with rigor and impartiality. Partner with Finance/IT teams to remediate non-compliance issues and implement mitigating controls.
Audit & Compliance: Collaborate with Group Risk & Internal Control (GRIC) during follow-up checks on management actions and CFOFR reviews. Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Regional Senior Compliance Manager.
Local Compliance Committee (LCC): Participate as an invited guest in quarterly LCC meetings. Prepare and present relevant materials as required.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, as well as a professional accounting designation, CPA
3 years of professional experience in auditing or a public accounting firm
Intermediate to expert knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on business impact
Structured and logical approach to problem-solving
Adaptable and receptive to change.
High emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate and manage opposing views constructively.
